What is VAMPIRE® Pro?

DeltaRail released VAMPIRE® Pro in April 2006. VAMPIRE® Pro provides a fully interactive version of VAMPIRE®. This professional version of the software brings all the VAMPIRE® programs together into one coherent, intuitive front end.

VAMPIRE® Pro includes project files which allow the user to structure the input files they use for their dynamics calculations. This is done through a simple tree view. Projects display the analyses loaded into the project, their dependencies on other input files and keep the user informed of the status of each calculation. Other input files can be added to the project so that they then come under the control of the project.

VAMPIRE® Pro includes an Interactive Vehicle Builder to simplify the model building process. The IVB displays the model in both a tree view and a graphical view making it easy to create and edit models. The IVB also supports parts libraries.

The Animation program has been improved for VAMPIRE® Pro to include, multiple cameras, Improved wheel rail views, dynamic wheel force arrows, milepost markers and lineside structures. The animator has also been rolled out to animate modes output from the eigenvalue analysis program. VAMPIRE® PRO also offers a new wheel/rail profile suite with improved wheel rail profile manipulation, contact data calculations and contact patch plotting facilities. For the analysis programs VAMPIRE® PRO includes a revised Kalker table for the non-linear creep law, new track parameter files and a completely revised track reading/interpolation routine. These changes significantly improve simulations on tight curves with severe flange contact.
